Eucalyptus salve
Again these products are the best. I highly recommend for burns, scrapes, etc.
KRESTOL EUCALYPTUS GEL
The two main ingredients in Krestol Eucalyptus Gel are traditionally known to disinfect and heal wounds. This special blend has been around for generations and is unlike any other product available. In fact, Krestol Salve was first introduced in 1908, the year the McNess brand was started.
The Krestol Eucalyptus Gel is the exact same formula used for generations, but now available in three sizes. These tins contain 4.2 oz of the Krestol.
We know that some people have had the 11 oz tin in their medicine cabinet for years and years (and years.) Let's face it, you probably should replace it a lot sooner than you do. The smaller size makes it easier (and cheaper) to replace more often. And, did you ever notice that the 11 oz tins can was hard to open? The smaller size has a curled lip that makes it much easier to take off and put back on.
Also, please note that we have two other sizes available. If you are a heavy user of the Krestol, we now have a 18.5 oz plastic tub available. In addition, we also have a small, 1.8 oz TSA compatible travel size available in a glass jar. (Perfect to give to friends and family that may not know about the qualities of Krestol.)
Ingredients:
Petrolatum, Rosin, Cresylic Acid, Eucalyptus Oil

I haven’t even opened it yet, and the two extra ones I ordered were for other people, but I know it’s excellent. I’ve had some of this salve that I’ve used for years and my mother used it when I was a kid so I just wanted to make sure I never run out. It works much better than anything else I’ve ever used.
This gel is magic I use it on myself, and all my animals, and it heals things in no time!!
Very small amount for the price I paid. ********************** From Sugar River Trading Co/The McNess Store: Thank you for your comment Charles. I understand that the 4.2 oz tin is a bit less than the prior 11 oz can. There were a number of things that played into our decision to make that change. First, we wanted to find a different package that would be easier and safer to open. Two, we hear quite frequently from customers that they were still using a can that they purchased over 30 years ago. And for something that is often used on injuries, it should be replaced more often than that. So we changed to the 4.2 oz tin, which should be adequate for most uses. We do however have many who use the Krestol quite frequently, so we also have an 18.5 oz, easy to open plastic tub, which is the most economical size. We also had many ask for a travel size, so we also have a 1.8 oz jar. This size is also good for people who just want to try it before purchasing a larger size, or if you want to have the product in multiple locations in your home, garage, wherever. And concerning the cost, although there is no other product exactly like the Krestol out there, a quick Google search found that our price is quite comparable to many other similar products on the market. It's always hard to make a change like this, but so far the response has been mostly well received.
This stuff is great for cuts. It helps with healing. I have used this stuff for years
Amazing relief from the burning and itching of Hives.
I was very happy to be able to find and purchase this salve. It is like or very much the same as what my parents used years ago. It is good!
My son had a wicked road rash from a motorcycle accident that was slow to heal. After months of treatment at a wound center using various skin veils, etc. with minimal healing, I suggested using the Gel. I had some that I got from my grandmother. We always called it “man or beast salve”. My son calls it “witchcraft” because after one use, he noticed a huge difference in the healing process. I was so pleased to find that it is still available and the ingredients haven’t changed. I ordered several tins to make sure my other children had it on hand. Another son opened the tin and when he smelled it he said “Ahhh my childhood.” This stuff is worth every penny.
I have been using McNess Krestol salve since I was a child and my mom grew up using it on their farm. She was born in 1935, so it has been a loved product for our family for generations. I just purchased a new tin, but am not as pleased with this new formula. Why did it have to change? _______________ From Sugar River Trading/The McNess Store: Actually the Krestol formula has never changed. It is the exact same product that has been produced for generations. The name did change due to new FDA regulations. Some customers think that it has changed because the color is lighter than the color of the product they have in an old tin, but that is because it hasn't aged due to oxidation. The color will change from a light yellowish to an orange-brown over time. Also some customers wonder if something has changed because the ingredient list is in a different order than it was for years, but that is because for years the ingredients were not in the order of predominance by weight, which is required now. Lastly, we have been using the some company to produce the Krestol for us for at least 20 years. We did also change the size so that we would have more options available. So as you can see, there have been some changes - but not to the product inside the tin.
